EXPLORING THE LINK BETWEEN NATURE AND CULTURE

In the frame of the eco-tourism working group several other places were explored in searching possibilities for involving them in the Eco tourism activities. The possabilities for connection between nature, culture and eco-tourism were explored, also.

During the summer period Biosfera had realized few activities and took part in two workshops: Capacity Building seminar – Instrument for Precession Assistance (IPA) and workshop for handicrafts: “Meet the unknown beauties of Macedonia”.

PREPARING THE GREEN AGENDA OFFICE

This will be an open office where citizens can get more information about Green Agenda process and how they can be involved. The office will be used for meetings of the working groups. Official opening ceremony will be at 9th of September – day of official registration of Biosfera in 1999.

BIOSFERA AND YOUTH INTERNATIONAL NETWORK – TOGETHER“

Together” is international youth network dealing with the issues of Youth intercultural exchange in the frames of The Youth in Action 1 – Program of the European Union. From 8th – 18 of August they were having an exchange with ECO CITIZENSHIP as a subject. This event was happened in Bitola.

In Preza commune came visitors on this dates, from Dajçi commune ( Shkodër) and from Voskopoja commune ( Korçë). In these groups were 5 members, and between them were the coordinators of their values for each commune.

The objectives of this study visit were:

-          1.  Experience changing between the three communes were is implementing Green Agenda.

-          2.  Establishing contacts in local level of the three working groups that are working for Green Agenda 

There were 39 members in this study visit, and the participants from each commune took experience from the Development of Green Agenda in Preza, by giving  presentation, that each coordinator from Preza commune had prepared very well for each value.

After each presentation they had three sessions with questions& answers. The participants ( visitors from the other communes ) got new ideas that they may adapt in the future in their communes in the framework of the Green Agenda.

Some of the ideas expressed in the evaluation form were:

-          To revive the traditional clothes of the area in different activities.

-          To collect in a museum the tradition artisanal works ( handicraft) and the traditional clothes of the area.

-          To promote the work of the three working groups for Green  Agenda process in notice boards or post boxes.

-          To promote the Green Agenda process at the TV area, and local media.

-          The usage of Internet for promotion of the tourist and nature values of the area.

-          To give direct invitation to the community for joining the working groups of Green Agenda process.

On Saturday the visitors went for a visit in Preza castle, a strategic point were you can see all the villages of the commune, and the beauty of the nature that the area offers. Forests, lakes, river, the well, the old bazaar and the castle attracted the attention of the visitors. One of the members of the Tourist Infrastructure Group made the Tour guide and he gave a lot of information about the nature and tourist values of the area during the visit in the Preza Castle.

 All of the visitors expressed in the evaluation form that “ It was worthy to be part of this study visit in Preza Commune ”
