On May 11^th , 2010 the working groups in Preza had their second meeting for the third phase. At this meeting the working groups made the finalization of the upcoming pilot project. They have decided that the three groups to make a joint pilot project. They thought to create “Touristic Guides” with promotional materials of touristic values of the area.
Also during May, members of the working groups have been involved in some trainings very important. With these topics: IPA Training Funds and Cross Border Cooperation in Tirana, with trainers from Eden Center. Also they had a national training of the working groups in Shkodra with the topic: “Public Relations.” These training topics organized for the working groups will help them in their work in the future regarding the Green Agenda process and in other areas.

On May 25^th the working groups in Preza had a very important training with one of the most important issues: “Fundraising” In these training they received information in: Where could they find funds, How to distinguish the right donor for the right field, Possible donors, and How to find donors and how to raise funds?

On May 31, 2010, the project coordinators of the Green Agenda and coordinators of working groups were gathered for the next meeting of the National Platform of the Green Agenda in Albania. At this meeting they discussed about the progress of the Green Agenda Manual for Albania and in the framework of the activities of making visible the Green Agenda at the local level.

On April 13^th 2010, the working groups in Preza had their next meeting. On this meeting some tasks were divided among the members of the working groups.

-  To explore the archive of the Commune Council from May 2009 – April 2010 and to distinguish those activities that have been approved from the list of the GA activities

- To estimate the costs of GA activities which can be potentially supported financially by the Commune Council

- To participate in Commune Council meetings and present the GA needs for financial support.

- To create a Facebook group and a Facebook fanpage “Axhenda e Gjelber- Green Agenda Preze”. We decided to use Facebook as a tool to communicate with the community in Preza, especially with the young people who can easily reach to their families afterwards and the emigrants. We hope that the further 2-way communication established with the community of Preza that has access on the internet will strengthen the public consultation for GA activities in the future.

More people were involved from the WGs mostly students who were drawn to the GA process in Preza after the Participatory video project.

On April 24^th and 25^th 2010, there was held a National training in Preza, where there were participants from the working groups from Dajci, Voskopoja and Preza. The topic of the training was “Managerial Skills”.

In the evening the Hostess Commune of Preza organized “A fellowship party” for the participants of the working groups of the other communes.

On April 27^th the working groups of Preza had a very important training with the topic “Strategic Planning”. This training will help them to plan their projects and activities of the future better.

These trainings were possible from EDEN Center.

On April 17 (Saturday), 2010, in a hotel Makpetrol, Struga was held the second meeting of the Green Agenda Advisory Board in Macedonia (GAAB). 4 (four) members of the GAAB attend on the meeting, Mr. Saso Sekulovski, representative from ministry of Environment and Physical Planning; Ms. Ardita Dema, executive director of ZELS, (association of local self governments); Mr. Bekim Imery, representative from World Bank office in Macedonia and Mr. Goran Malesevski, Mayor of Municipality of Delcevo. Also, from one representative from three organizations that implement the process of the green agenda in Macedonia, were attending on the meeting. At the meeting was presented activities and results of work of Green Agenda Platform in Macedonia in previous period and current activities in the process of implementation of green agenda in three organizations (Green Center, Biosphere and Regional Center for advocacy). At the meeting was presented new project to further the process of the green agenda in Macedonia, “European partnership for local green agendas”, funded by the IPA program in 2008, Program for supporting partnership activities “Environment, energy efficiency, health and safety at work”. As the last issue from the meeting was working session for planning the annual program of Green Agenda Advisory Board in Macedonia. Purpose of this session was to define activities of the Green Agenda Advisory Board in Macedonia and future activities of Green Agenda National Platform in Macedonia.

During March the working group members were gathered to set the dates for the coming meetings and the topics of the trainings, that they will have in the second phase of this term. They had some ideas about the pilot projects that will be implementing, and now they are writing a pilot project.

The synthesis of the Green Agenda document now it is published, and it is a booklet in two languages, in Albanian and in English. It is named “Values of Preza”, in which are summarized the values of Preza, and some of the offered solutions for the problems, that the working group thought that those were very important. This booklet is now in the hands of the working groups members.

In the end of March, the coordinators of the working groups and some members from APA had a training with the topic of “Leadership”, organized from EDEN Center. This training was very effective both for APA and the coordinators, because this training will be very helpful for them on how to be very good leaders of their own groups, and how to carry out this process successfully.

Working groups had the opportunity to train for two days training with two very interesting topics and very worthy for their work in progress. These training will help them a lot because the process for this term is in the second phase and they will deal with implementation of pilot projects which have been listed in the list of activities on the Green Agenda Document. These topics will help them and even the youth group that already is attached into the process.
Trainers were from the group of trainers of Eden Center.
Two topics were ‘ Project Monitoring and Assessment ‘ and ‘Project Management’.
Dynamics of work asked to substitute the coordinator of the group of ‘Forest and Biodiversity’, now the coordinator is a girl , she is Pranvera Kurti, which was officially substituted in March.

On February 2010 the assistant of the Green Agenda in Preza, Aurora Mulla went in Skopje to learn how to edit the movie created on January in Preza. It was a very intensive work to edit the movie but at the end it was a very good product created from the working groups and the youths of Green Agenda in Preza. The training was under the assistance of InsightShare UK.

The movie was named “Values that can not be vanished”. It is also with subtitles in English and very soon it will be uploaded on this page or on Youtube. We have planned now a lot of activities how to make this short movie to be seen by a lot of people in order to see change, because this was one of the reasons why the group decided to make that kind of story on the movie.

During January the working groups in Preza had a training on how to use the video cameras, in order to learn to shoot a short movie for Preza. This training was made possible by Insightshare UK where two trainers assisted in teaching to the use of cameras and filming. This short movie was created by the members of the working groups and a number of youths that contributed on shooting and acting. The youths are now part of the GA Working groups.

On this movie they wanted to show to the inhabitants, the emigrants, the teenagers, and to the local government the best values of Preza for which they are proud and the main problems that they have. Through this movie they want to see changes in their commune, and they want to aware all the inhabitants to contribute for the future of Preza, and also for the emigrants to think for Preza as for their home and to invest more there.

The film is treated in the form of a short story showing  the two sides the values and problems that are in Preza.

Filmi u vendos qe te behej per komunitetin e Prezes, duke i bere nje thirje banoreve te saj, emigranteve, te rrinjve dhe qeverisjes lokale qe te kujdesen dhe te kontribojne me shume per te dhe te ruajne vlerat e saj. Ata vendosen qe ne kete film te shkurter te xhironin vlerat kryesore qe ka Preza dhe per te cilat ata ndihen krenare, si edhe disa nga problemet qe hasen ne menyre qe te vihet dore nga komuniteti dhe nga qeverisja lokale.
Nepermjet ketij filmi zeri i aktoreve kryesore eshte qe duan te shohin ndryshim per Prezen. Filmi eshte trajtuar ne formen e nje historie te shkurter duke nxjerre te dy anet Vlerat dhe problemet qe jane ne Preze.

During October and November 2009 the coordinators of the the working groups of Ethnocultural Values and Tourist Infrastructure had an opportunity to exchange their experiences on a study visit in Kroatia and on a VideoMaking in Macedonia.

Aldo Sheshaj- Tourist Infrastructure coordinator

Aldo was on November 2009 for a training in Macedonia. This training consisted on the preparation of the coaches on Videomaking. This training was something new and very successful said Aldo, it is a way on how to appeal on the Local Government for the problems of the commune. Also this video we can use as a promotional tool for the tourists or as a tool for raising up the visibility of the Green Agenda process.

He learned a lot of new things not only on how to use a videocamera or making a movie, but we learned from the other member’s experiences, that were in this regional training. He had an opportunity to share our experience of the Green Agenda process in Preza.  I made a summary of the main things of the process.

Now the things are scheduled and on February we will make a short movie for Preza. What I learned is that we need more to be improved in our work. We have some strong and weak points. And a worthy method to improve our work is this videomaking for Preza Commune. This training was so worthy for me and very necessarily.

Suzana Halili- Ethnocultural values coordinator

Suzana was in Kroatia on a study visit on Merimudjee region. During this study visit we saw the process of the Green Agenda in this region. Every commune/ every participant that was invited on this study visit made a presentation and showed us the way how they operated during the Green Agenda process. During this experience exchanging time I had an opportunity to take and to give good ideas.

I saw that Albania was on a higher stage than the other countries concerning the GA process and the project lists.

The pilot projects that were applied there were financed by the community, commune and GA. Most of them were very visible and touchable, we can say about the tourist attractiveness, building water mills for energy production, etc. What most impacted me was that wherever we went they gave us promotional materials as CD, flyers, telephone numbers etc. Most of these ideas for pilot projects we can adapt in our commune. This experience was worthy to me. I learned that applying a pilot project needs cooperation and it cannot be done alone, this is also about the fund raising and donors.
