The Rugova community’s Green Agenda meeting of 12 August 2008 will go down in historic tales.  This was an important and historic day for the Rugova community.  On this day, for the first time, the Office of the Prime Minister for the Republic of Kosova paid a visit to the Rugova community to hear what they had to say.  The Office of the Prime Minister was represented at Rugova’s Green Agenda meeting on 12 August 2008 by Fadil Hysaj, first adviser to Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.

Fadil Hysaj, adviser to Kosovo Prime MinisterDuring the Green Agenda meeting, the representative Hysaj from the Prime Minister’s Office recognized that up until now the Rugova region has received little assistance from the central government in Prishtina.  However, he proclaimed that as of this day that will begin to change.

Hysaj said that his office will support the Rugova community’s efforts with the Green Agenda process 100%; because this region has to be protected by the local inhabitants to be sustainable.

Hysaj wanted the inhabitants to know that they should and will be the main drivers of development for Rugova, and that if they come to him organized and with a clear idea, he will do his best to support them.

Hysaj closed by saying that this was his first time visiting Rugova, and that it is no different from Paradise.  And that we must work together to protect it.
